Startup checklist – Sales

You can do the following steps even before you know what you will call your product. Wherever you are going to mention the product name, just use a placeholder in all-caps like {{PRODUCT_NAME}} so you can easily find and replace later with the product name you choose.

Create your main offer. This is your product or service — what does the customer get, and how much do they pay for it.

Build a high-ticket offer. This is a higher price offer that helps your customer get better results. This can be a combination of up-sell (more features and value in the main offer for a higher price) and cross-sell (additional products and services) items.

Design a product image and icon (also called a thumbnail).

Build the order page.

Complete the value ladder.

Launch action plan.

Build landing pages. There are different styles to choose from. Popular styles include the journey page and the long journey page.

Write email templates. You need templates for the launch (announcing your new product to people you already know) and for new sign-ups from your website (welcoming them).

Write the sales presentation outline.

Call to action.

Write the sales script.

Design the on-boarding process for new customers.
